The performance art as an artistic genre, can be included in the field of plastic arts, it being important, among other objectives, to identify works and artists, performance art festivals, documentary exhibitions and reinterpretations, as well as agents with activity and interest in the industry.

Its framework in CreiA.Lab aims at the valorization and dissemination of works and creatives, the production of knowledge in the field of performance art and contributes to the systematization and monitoring of indicators on the production, distribution and consumption of this creative sector.

This project stems from the PhD research in progress - Sound Arts in Performance Art in Portugal - (funded by FCT) and which main focus is the study and identification of the relationship between performance art and music / sound - synergies, practices and archives - developed in a temporal arc from the 60s of the 20th century to the present.

It is intended that this study allows a better understanding of contemporary performance art in Portugal, through the analysis of the inherent transdisciplinarity, in particular the development of the participation of music / sound and musical performance in its evolution.
